I gave up about 80% of the way through. There are a few things right about this book, but a whole lot wrong. The writing is mostly very bad: it breaks every "show, don't tell" rule, and even when it "shows" it shows with a metaphor that is impenetrable and unbelievable and that amounts to a tell. Basically just a garden variety romance novel that's been puffed up with some exotic settings and an author who starts his name with an initial.
