I've taken a while to jot down my thoughts about this - I'm not sure why as it's one of the best books I've read in a while. I loved everything about it - the characters, the setting, the writing. It's one of those very rare books where I dreaded getting to the last page because I didn't want to say goodbye to the characters (lots of them queer too - bonus!). Winman's writing is gorgeous - the way she describes Florence and Italian food; it pulled me in with its sumptuousness. A life-affirming, funny, poignant, and absolutely magical novel.
