I had a lump of melancholy in my stomach when I finished this book. And I still have. For me it was hard - at times almost unbearable - to read; particularly the last third of the book. :'(

I think it's a very well written story. The writers language and the way he expresses things is distinctive, poetic and at times unexpected, causing me on several occasions to stop reading and for several moments just sit there and think over what I just read.

I also wish to mention that I finished this book yesterday - on the 8th of May - Liberation Day.
