I read and reread this years and year ago... and yeah, I think I liked it better then. It wasn't that she used all of the propaganda that Hatshepsut wrote out on her temple walls about being her father's choice in heir or anything else believed to be historically wrong today, (that's actually some pretty good what-if stuff for historical fiction such as this), but I guess just how it was written, how the characters sound, stuff like that.
