I was interested in this one because it was just the Enterprise, but also with Pike and Spock. I still haven't seen the actual show yet (will be starting to watch it soon, finally!), so I knew not to expect original series Pike or even reboot movie Pike - didn't really like the original, but did like the movie one.

Anyway, I like this story, but it did drag in parts... but that is kind of the point. Whether it's war or more advanced space exploration, there is a lot of hurry up and wait. They were told to stay in this part of space for over a year, away from the klingon war. So, that meant stuff in their neck of the woods was happening, and it didn't solve itself quickly. So maybe it's not necessarily the best one to listen to like I did while doing a job that kind of drags itself sometimes when I'm tired (lol). Anyway, it ends with something about seven lights that is supposed to have this directly lead into something in the show... which I'll see eventually. :)
