I liked it a lot. It reminds me of "The Yellow Wallpaper" but this is a full novel and thus has more time to slowly develop.

It is one of those books that really benefit from an audio version, at least because it lets you listen to it in the darkness of your bedroom late at night. Often I thought I became desensitized to horror fiction, but this one sent shivers down my spine several times.

I thought the story had resolved a bit too quickly, but nonetheless it was a good way to end the tale.

The tale contains all that I wanted. It is very immersive and I am not surprised that it is considered a classic of ghost fiction.
