Written by a standup comedian who initially gained wider notice on Twitter, this book is part memoir, part humorous essay collection. While organized in a semi-chronological format, the chapters are less a full account of Delaney's life to date than a magnifying glass picking and choosing certain anecdotes or themes (childhood, alcoholism, experiences studying abroad, parenthood) to focus on. The result is that the book is a bit scattershot, but also a breezy, quick read. People who are familiar with his standup material or tweets will probably gain the most from this book, but I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone with a general fondness for humorous anecdotes.
