I like Tool. Great character. Good to see (read) him again but for the most part, this book could be skipped.

All of Bacigalupi's books that I've read so far have a modern day issue, (problem), reimagined for the future. This one seems to deal specifically with the issue of the human condition in it's bleakest, most dire form. Not as uplifting as with the authors other works.
