Amy Kurzweil: Artificial (2023, Catapult)

Not bad. Fun illustrations and interesting musings

Finished reading Artificial: a love story by Amy Kurzweil. I needed a break from the Samantha Harvey rabbit hole. I like a good solid graphic novel, paper in my hands now and again! This one was very interesting, a little out of date now with AI advances, but it’s more than that. Creation of an AI personality of a deceased family members is the ongoing storyline around which revolve musings and observations on relationships, generational trauma, ambition, and purpose. It’s a decent read IMHO

Samantha Harvey: The Western Wind (Hardcover, 2018, Jonathan Cape)

Review of the Western Wind

Just finished the book (the Western Wind by Samantha Harvey) i’m seeing a theme with her books that when they end, they just end as if they could keep going on forever. This one had a bit of a twist that I did not see coming. very enjoyable read. I especially liked the history woven in around the Catholic Church and village life at this time. And using the device of the confessional to add to the plot and the depth of the characters was very clever.
