When I first started reading this book it seemed like it was going to be one of those cliched stories about whitey being a real jerkass and the black man being all righteous but powerless. And truthfully, it kind of was, but I found myself liking the book anyway. There are lessons to be learned, everyday, from all kinds of teachers if one opens ones mind to it. I kind of hope I learned my lesson.
