I'm only going to give this book 3 stars even though I really liked the first half of the book. The second half, the way the family responded to the situation with the daughter, was just too unbelievable and was almost like the author took the easiest road to hasten the family's doom. I cannot believe any parents would treat their daughter the cold and heartless way the Mulvaney parents did. The wife should have told her husband to "suck it up" that it ain't all about him right now and kicked him right in his ass. It just didn't ring true to me. Plus the daughter should have told her parents "good bye forever, you fucks" for the way they treated her.

Some good parts, some not so good. There was a very good story there, it just was not executed well (IMHO).
