Interesting and compelling West African fantasy with folklore, occult, mythology, past races / ancient peoples, djinn, monsters and sorcerers . Two main storylines / subplots with growing interaction between the two (Kobenan and Joel).

The story ends appropriately on one subplot without a glaring cliffhanger, but many storyline threads are left open for subsequent and antecedent instalments in the series.

Fans of Marlon James, Neil Gaiman, and Tafe Thompson will all find interesting components here.
