This is my second time reading this book. The first time, I feel it didn't have much of an impact. The second time, the protagonist's loneliness and abandonment really shone through. After reading this for the second time, I'd put this on par with Murakami's great novels, such as A Wild Sheep Chase and Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.
