What a beautiful, moving, gorgeously reported book about a famiy with 12 children, six of whom are pyschophrenic. This book is as good as "Lost Girls" (2012), Kolker's last book, already a True Crime classic. Reading it is sad going, no doubt, but 10% worth it, every page worth it.
