Stitch reviewed Rising Stars Compendium by J. Michael Straczynski

I originally picked up a few of the issues midway through the story back in about 2005 and loved what I read. I didn't live in a town with a comic book store so when I recently came upon the this story again not long after re-reading the Superman issues that JMS wrote, it was a must.
It's a hell of a ride. The story-writing is rich and of a calibre that you don't get to read too often anymore and the included side stories give many of the characters more depth. It has a clear, concise and planned ending, something that I personally find is a fault in a lot of modern television and comic books - the "dragged out 'til we're cancelled!" format is unfair to both viewer/reader and this, fortunately, is not one of those. In fact, no spoilers, but it's a very satisfying ending for the reader.
