I seem to have a weakness for zombie stories these days and the first book of this series was free to me (and the rest were dirt cheap). The series interested me enough to finish all four books, but I would hesitate to recommend them. I think the books suffered from the serialized nature of their first publication. I think the series could have used at least one more rewrite. The meandering quality of the four books could have used some cutting. It seemed like the whole thing could've been transformed into a tight single novel or perhaps two. Lots of repetitive scenes and descriptions. Except for a couple characters, many of the characters were difficult to differentiate. Way too often the characters wanted to do something sensible, but were stopped by a "bad feeling". I really disliked the end of the series too.
