Actually started in 2022, but picked up again this year. Di Morrissey writes stories about Australian places, people, and situations that feel very relatable if you’ve spent any time here. She offers great escapism.

Susanbee finished reading Giving Up the Ghost by Hilary Mantel
Hilary Mantel’s memoir is one of loss and yearning for what could have been. She faced some terrible illnesses, several of which I too have had. In her case, she was ignored and discounted by various medical professionals until the untreated illness (endometriosis) had ravaged her body. Truly heartbreaking stuff. But out of all of this, her gift and talents of observation and imagination saved her with her incredible storytelling. Her books became the children she longed for, and they will live on for years and years now that she’s left us.
If you love her like I do, it’s a remarkable insight into an extraordinary woman. Highly recommended.
