Very complicated plot. Nobody is who they seem to be. Posie gets there in the end, though not without some setbacks and not without cursing herself for being slow to catch on to a few things. Of course, the fact that nobody wants to give her any helpful information doesn’t help. . .

She’s still as feisty as ever, despite relationships falling apart all around her. The city of Venice, far from being a romantic and desireable location, is full of menace, decay, and disappointment, just like the people who surround Posie in this episode.

Christmastime, visitations from the past, and surprises in the present. Posie unravels some of the strangest situations she’s ever come across.

Characters and plots are still fun, but. . .

In Book 3 of the Posie Parker mystery series, Posie is going undercover for the British government. It turns out almost nobody at this not-so-locked-room manor house is who they say they are. Posie rips off one mask after another, finally escaping the clutches of the villain who’s been obsessed with her from Book 1 when he’s shot and out of her life forever. Or is he?

The second Posie Parker mystery is more puzzling than the first. Aristocracy, heirs and heiresses, monasteries in Sicily, and archeological digs all play their roles. To solve the case, Posie has to rely on good sleuthing, puzzle solving, and a bit of luck.

And the love interest from the first book? Down the toilet. But there may be another on the horizon. . .

Pose Parker is a feisty young lady private detective in London just after World War I. Her first case involves the world of the theatre, diamond smuggling, counterfeiting, and spying. With a little love interest thrown in. Fun!

Beautifully written time-hopping mystery.

This is a book I come back to again and again. There's something about Ellie, the MC, that I really just relate to. It's a great series, although some of the books are over-the-top zany. Well worth the read.
