Tanith Lee: Dark Castle, White Horse (Paperback, DAW) No rating

IN DARKNESS SHE WAKES -- a beautiful young woman, forever imprisoned in the Castle of …

Brought some more of the library over to the new place last week, including a couple of Tanith Lee series and this standalone story collection. Want to read them as well and it just seemed simpler to read this one first.
Tanith Lee was SUCH an amazing & unique writer, it's ridiculous that she fell out of vogue in the 1990s. So many modern fantasy fans have no idea what they're missing.

Alice Muriel Williamson: The Lightning Conductor Comes Back (Hardcover, Chapman & Hall) No rating

The third book in the Lightning Conductor series. PDF scan available free via Google Books …

may abandon / DNF this one ... somehow the same thing that helped make the first two so enjoyable (lots of setting info, place names, etc.) is working against this one ... there are a lot of place names and sort of comments about London neighborhoods (?) but without any prior knowledge of same it's just so much alphabet soup. Might give it another chapter to see if things improve.

finished reading The lightning conductor discovers America by Charles Norris Williamson (CIHM/ICMH Microfiche series = CIHM/ICMH collection de microfiches -- no. 78073)

Charles Norris Williamson, Alice Muriel Williamson: The lightning conductor discovers America (1996, Musson) No rating

(suspect I didn't seriously start reading it until December 2023, and maybe downloaded it in October). The charming and rather educational sequel to The Lightning Conductor. Apparently also known as The Lightning Conductress, which I'm glad I read somewhere because I had been going to look for the latter title to read next. This book is written in the form of letters from various main characters to certain friends and associates. It is helpful to have read The Lightning Conductor first but not necessary. It's set in various homes, hotels, scenic places, and roads from Long Island, NY, to Maine, with lots and lots of descriptive passages.
Charming and romantic, a welcome escape from the world IMO.
