Covid-19 ruined this for me.

Honestly, it reads like a five star book. Camus perfectly captures the experience of living through a plague. But after living through Covid-19, the intrigue of the subject is lost for me. Instead of getting intoxicated by the details, I just kept nodding along and agreeing with Camus about what happens during a plague. It will not surprise me if this sees a resurgence of popularity in the distant future, once Covid-19 is forgotten but people want to understand the experience.
