A page turner about structural power relations

I read the "The ministry of time" by Kaliane Bradley in a few nights, I simply  couldn't put it down. A gripping story of time travel as much as a thoughtful reflection on structural power.  I adored how she elegantly broaches the subjects of colonialism, racism and sexism simply through who her characters are. The structural power relations between them drive the story as much as the romantic angle (which was also very neatly done, btw).

Brilliant!

Just finished reading "The Firekeeper's Daughter" by Angeline Boulley and absolutely loved it. It's a compelling story, powered by a strand of crime story and spiced with a bit of a love story and that perfect mix had me turning the pages. At the same time, it's a story about community and belonging and it left me longing for this kind of connection.

On top you get stories within the story, like how First Man misses out on multiples orgasms in exchange for the ability to pee standing upright . Hilarious!
