This is a librarian's autobiography wrapped around the theme of a library cat. I'm glad she wrote the book and shared his story, and I understand that his story is also her story. It was still surprising just how much was about the author. The background about the town, however, did seem important to understanding both Dewey's role there and the interactions with residents. The author has written another book that focuses more on Dewey's story.
