This was really good, but I just wish it was a novel instead of a novella! It read like folklore and I love that - like a story you'd tell around a campfire. It had that kind of symmetry to it, I think? I'm dumb don't listen to me

Anyway I really enjoyed this!!

Yuri Herrera, Lisa Dillman: Ten Planets (Paperback, 2023, Graywolf Press) 4 stars

Matthew Gabriele, David M. Perry: The Bright Ages (Hardcover, 2021, Harper) 4 stars

A lively and magisterial popular history that refutes common misperceptions of the European Middle Ages, …

Genuinely fascinating. It took me a while to read this, but it was worth it. One of the best books I read this year, and it completely changed my perspective on the Middle Ages.
