So really enjoyed this and will be reading on. This is a snarky UF but the "bounty hunter" is a bit too much. We do learn why and are not hanging in any real way. There is a obvious over arc for the romance between Darius and Reagan. Darius is an elder vampire so he is a bit over the top in strength also. The only save was that/is that Reagan has to hide her powers else be identified and coveted.

Spoiler for the whole book, set up, Reagan is the child of Lucifer and a human witch. Something about the witch's genetics allowed for the child which so far is thought to have never happened... Her magic is from the underworld and is of Fire, it eat through spell work but she needs a conduit else she has to conjure fire and people understand that it is demon magic. So she uses a sword, which she looses at the beginning. Darius steals her bounty (mark) and collects, which leaves her desperate. He saw her strength but not her power and thinks she will be the perfect means to investigate and catch a human/witch/wizard that is using Unicorn blood to enhance their power. The vampires are protectors of unicorns (this just is a bit far fetched) and are a very well kept secret. If they don't think you will keep the secret, their option is death. So they start on the investigation but first go to a sword maker acquaintance of Darius. She feels a familiarity and it is soon found out to her that they know her secret and are old friend of her mom, who is dead. She figures out that the first bounty is tied to this so goes to interview the coven of witches. They have been hiding information. end Darius finds out who Reagan is, he steals the bounty but ends up giving her the money. The bounty dies on the way to the turn in as she knows Reagan's secret so Darius took care of it. Vlad, who is the head of the vampires doesn't know and Darius offers to bind her which would protect her from Vlad if he decided to use her. Reagan, although drugged with Darius' charisma seems to be able to fight off the sexual tension the 3 or 4 times that she is tempted. She refuses his offer for the time. She believes if her father discovers about her that he will consign her to hell to reign as Queen. Lucifer seems to not know, which I find questionable. Oh and Mick-y at her house, a human, scares off mage when he came looking for book/computers of spells, he used a gun and doesn't know about the paranormal.
