Dnf around the 150 page mark/after 10 chapters or so

I enjoyed Winter's Orbit and was intrigued when another book was announced. But Ocean's Echo has nothing in common with the first installment and it's honestly unneccessary that it even takes place in the same world... And I'm sorry to say this: This book is no fun! The love story is non existent, everything is overly complicated and there's no suspense. I kept reading in the hopes that it would get better but other reviewers said that the first half is the better one...
