anka.trini reviewed Wenn die Schatten sich erheben by Sarah J. Maas

This book was so so bad! The POVs kept shifting every five sentences and most of them weren't even interesting. Why should I care about all those minor characters with little to no depth? And why, oh why can't Sarah J. Maas solve problems other than by giving her characters special powers at the most convenient time? You need to fight enemies that couldn't be defeated for millenia? A couple of teenagers (by immortal standards) are here to save the day! Deus ex machina and long dead characters handing you all the answers on a silver plate included... The Crescent City series only has bland characters with superficial coolness that I couldn't care less about. The constant swearing and bravado was so annoying. Have a normal conversation for once, please... You don't have to insult everyone all the time. It just made them seem like teenagers who tried to hide their insecurity.
I'm too annoyed to continiue writing a review at this point... Only this: If you continued the series because of the cliffhanger at the end of the second book, you're in for a huge disappointment.
