There was no plot whatsoever, but somehow I enjoyed this book at times. There also wasn't nearly as much violence as I had expected it to be. In comparison to A Game of Thrones, for example, it is kind of funny to me that so many people seem to find this story extremely cruel. Of course, Damen is treated poorly but it fits the setting. Moreover, I was kind of disappointed that there was no romance or anything in this novel. To sum it up, the book is okay but not at all a must read.
