Overall I quite enjoyed this book, but there was one scene you might call Native American blackface that totally threw off the whole thing for me. It left me feeling gross about liking these characters up until that point and I really couldn't trust any of them after that scene. I get that times were different then but it seemed gratuitous and unnecessary.
