Seasonal Fears (2022, Doherty Associates, LLC, Tom)

I read this shortly after finishing Middlegame. It was a a solid follow-up and even more enjoyable than the first novel. The story is more linear, so it's easier to understand and the dynamics between the characters are (on some level) more relatable. Some chapters were longer than I would have liked for a quick bedtime read, but even the long ones moved quickly so I never felt like I was reading long passages.

I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

I don't think I was the target audience for this book, which seemed to be primarily focused on executives and senior management. The academic parts of the psychology topics were the most interesting, but unfortunately, they were covered at a surface level.

Once I understood the chronology and what was going on, I enjoyed the story (though I still had to jump back and forth a bit to fill in some gaps). The dynamic between the characters evolve in ways that use some of my favorite tropes. The book would have been five stars if it were easier to get my initial foothold into the plot.
