Review of 'Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle)' on 'Storygraph'

This book.

This book confuses me.
There were passages that seemed painstakingly detailed and thoroughly planned. Then there were passages that seemed simple and cliché-ridden.
While this might not be on purpose, this interaction and change of writing styles made me feel like a girl trying her best to cope with the way too complicated world she lives in. Sometimes I felt quite helpless and naive, sometimes I thought I got it all sorted out just to be hit by another challenge, sometimes I just wanted a break of pain and started simplifying everything to have a chance of a happy ending.

Sometimes I think about books in characters, plot lines and plot holes, feminism and sexism, writing style, humour and other basic categories one can interprete.
This book, however, made me feel. Life is complex and feeling is precious. That is why I will keep the details of this book unanalyzed for once and just enjoy the memories of having been a damn cool assassin for a few weeks.
