Tricia Hersey: Rest Is Resistance (EBook, 2022, Hachette B and Blackstone Publishing)

overall, i found this to be really repetitive. i do think there were reflections and remembrances it prompted in me though - i forgot how i too ended up taking dance classes when i was a student, and i want to incorporate more dance into my life again. hersey didn't mention this necessarily (or maybe she did and i forgot it amongst the repetitivity?), but i was thinking about how i've been grinding doing chores at home as well as volunteering. i justified it because the world is on fire and it's not capitalism, right? but i'm in burn out, and trying to find sustainability, and maybe all that trying to put out fires that are hurting all these people around me while i have no water is not working. i'm also curious about the idea of doing a nap session at my workplace, where it's frowned upon for people to nap or lie down, and those who do will often get tattled on to people in power. maybe having a designated session would allow people to nap without being bothered for once (if this even would be approved)?
