A bit disappointing. I liked everything I read from Jacqueline Carey so far, and I expected a lot from this one, whose premise was interesting: in a city that has been cut out from the world by the US government, Loup is the daughter of a genetically modified soldier with powers that remind us of werewolves (minus the fur and the full moon). Also, it talks about boxing. It's not bad, and probably from another author I'd have enjoyed it more - but it's definitely not as nice as the Terre d'Ange books. Could probably have been proofread once more - I noticed at least two "should of/would of" - it happens, but it should definitely be catched at the proofreading steps.
