The characters have basic personalities, the premise could be interesting, and the pace is kept up, but the older brother's speech patterns were, I think, meant to be 'college educated' but instead read to me as 'failed/pretentious attempt to sound college educated," and made me kind of embarrassed on his behalf.

This book isn't terrible, but it's not great, either. I got two chapters in, and then realized I could be reading icanhascheezeburger.com instead, so I did.
