brenticus reviewed A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

This was a riot. The actors are hilariously incompetent, the lovers are a bunch of disasters that just get worse and worse, Puck is a gem, and the insults are consistently on point and beautiful.
The Pelican edition has some interesting notes throughout on what seem to be textual errors and how later editors correct them. It's nice to get the original text with a footnote of "we're pretty sure Shakespeare messed this up, but meh."
