Review of 'Code Name Verity' on 'Goodreads'

Sometimes books are hard to put down. This one was, at times. Sometimes books are hard to pick back up. This one was. So hard to pick back up it even made me put it down so I could not pick it right back up. It's just that good.
I could have finished it a several days ago, but it lay there with its couple dozen remaining pages, taunting me. "It'll be sooo good", it said, "and then it'll be over for ever." So I left it lying until now, and it was, and now it is, but it was so worth it.
Who do I recommend this for? Anyone who likes good books and has the stomach for strong emotions and the harsh realities of the Second World War. Even shielded by being a reader and by the literary devices of this novel I felt a lot of this in my gut.
Best book I read this year.
