I think I might have finished this in less than 24 hours. It was definitely less than 25. A real pageturner in the urban fantasy / fairies genre this is the third book about October (Toby) Daye, half-fairie private detective, fairie knight and trouble magnet, disconnected from her attempt at human life by 14 years spent in a koi pond, as a koi. Her tendency to risk life and limb in the line of duty is by no means reduced when several children she cares about are abducted by unknown and powerfully magical ill-doers, and even though I was fairly sure she'd survive, since there are more books in the series, I wasn't completely certain, and even less so for anyone else involved.

I also just had to start on the next book in the series ...
