It's hard not comparing this to Twilight, so that's what I'll do. Unlike Twilight this book has likable characters. This surprised me slightly since they are actually the same characters and share being quite annoying and not entirely belivable with their origins. I found the entire book uneven in every manner or it might have gotten three stars. Also pulling it down is the fact that although I care what happens to Ana and Christian in a way I didn't for Edward and Bella, I don't care enough to read several hundred pages more of fanfic writing.
