Love Jia Toleentino and the idea for this book, but ultimately I was underwhelmed. It was refreshing to see a prolific writer validate the reservations I have about the Internet, purportedly feminist discourses, and pop culture. Yet she would sneak her point in between much exposition, then rarely return to further develop it. It's like she summarized the ways some phenomenon was contradictory, but for a presentation such as a book report instead of analysis. I guess I would have liked to hear more from her, about what she thought and would like to propose.
