This was a book club book, and given the style, I did not hold out much hope.
First of all, I find reading recipes boring at best. I don't mind there being some recipes in a book, but combined with the fact that overall the book seemed rambling and not very direct, this is not a good example. The history itself was somewhat interesting, but the whole thing ended up being tedious more than informational. Sigh.
