The main character was SO sad; she made me cry more than once :-(. The book was great. "Gas lighting" was evident from the start, but one never knew where was coming from and who was responsible. Impressions of the characters were constantly changing, but they were all appropriate, and although things didn't necessarily and the way one expected them to, there were no unreasonable leaps of belief.
I just reread the book. I remembered none the my first reading, but times not a commentary on the writing. I still liked it as well – still a good psychological thriller full of psychology, gas lighting, chills and thrills
