Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Any mention of this book will mention Hy P*r and probably not in a good way. Young boy finds he has magical powers, check. He is sent away to a special school for wizards, er, half-gods, check. Of course there's a quest, it's a quest fantasy, but still. Left me feeling underwhelmed. Why did Pierce Brosnan sign up to be in the movie of this?
Good points? Less snobby than H.P.? Felt more present day where H.P. feels like it's really set in the '70s or earlier.
