John Darnielle is such an incredible writer. Its no surprise that he can so easily translate his lyrical prowess into an indie/horror novel. I couldn't stop thinking about this book, even as the story looped and dipped into strange territories. Despite it being not at all what I expected (the books description is greatly misleading), I enjoyed every moment. It transported me into small town America with ease. Just enough was left unsaid to keep me questioning, while still leaving me satisfied.
