I am an avid reader of fiction. Nonfiction puts me to sleep mostly.

Science fiction and fantasy are my jam, but I am willing to give any genre a shot.

Erik J. Brown: All That's Left in the World (2022, Hachette Children's Group) 5 stars

What If It's Us meets Life as We Knew It in this postapocalyptic, queer YA …

A mostly light-hearted read

While there are some serious elements to this book, I found it quite enjoyable. As another review on here pointed out how much the book talks about smiling (negatively), the book actually did make me smile quite a few times.

It is a story about two teenagers just trying to survive in a post-pandemic world while also finding out who they really are.

I would recommend it if you are in to MM romances.

I am Elfled, and I am Accursed.

Imagine living in a world where magic is …

I searched the #Bookstodon hashtag to see if there were any Fediverse authors advertising their books. This was the first one that I found, so I gave it a shot.

I'm not one for long reviews, but I enjoyed this book and would like to read more stories contained in this world. I enjoyed Courtney's writing style quite a bit.

I feel like the ending of this book was a bit rushed, and am really hoping for a sequel, but I could not put this book down.

I started and finished it today and will probably add it to my list of books I reread every few years.

Not that it’s required, but there are so many different avenues a sequel could take.

Stephen King: Night Shift (Paperback, 2011, Anchor Books) 4 stars

Presents a collection of twenty stories of horror and nightmarish fantasy that transform everyday situations …

A few of the stories in here I liked more than the others, but every story in this book was fantastic. I'm ready to dig into a novel length story from Stephen King in the near future.
