Chris Mayes finished reading Stay True by Hua Hsu
Poignant, but awkwardly paced. This may be my own misperception of what this book was about. I thought it'd be a life-spanning memoir, but it instead revolves around the author's wrenching loss while he was in college. I've always enjoyed Hua Hsu's work at the New Yorker, but I'm not sure I'd recommend this book. It's a hard thing to say about something so personal and heartfelt, but it remains true.
