This is a wild series. I have to admit to being a little hot and cold while reading, but the overall flow and multi-generation storyline hooked me. In a way it almost reminds me of the Foundation series by Asimov, with the multi-generation aspect that almost breaks it into what can feel like a series of short stories that bridges with an overall theme. There is one other way it reminds me of Foundation but I can’t put it here without a spoiler. In any case this is a interesting and slightly unusual story that I enjoyed quite a bit.

By far the strongest of the era two Mistborn books in my opinion. This rounds out the series very nicely. Since this is the end of a series, if you haven’t read the other books this would not be a good place to start, go back and start at the beginning of Mistborn era one instead. But if you have read the rest of them then time to dig in!
