Karen Russell: Sleep Donation (Paperback, 2020, Vintage)

Review of 'Sleep Donation' on 'Storygraph'

This was a fascinating little book for me, especially when it started digging into the larger repercussions of its premise. I could really see all of this happening despite the hand-waving over the way donations worked or how the disease progressed in the first place. However, my main complaint is with the ending. It felt more like it just stopped rather than ended. I would've preferred a stronger resolution on some of the plot threads that were brought up, such as with Baby A. That said, this novella does pack a punch, and I'll be thinking about the themes that it brought up about our natural and cultural relationship with sleep for a while.
