Ok, so I wasn't really sure how to rate this book. On the one hand, it seems to genuinely tell Kiedis' story. On the other hand, the whole book reads like "did tons of drugs, had tons of sex, repeat." It gets old pretty fast. Also, Kiedis' knack for pseudo science / esoteric bullshit is a bit annoying (e.g. ozone blood therapy). It's been a while since the book came out though (2004), so of course I don't know what his stance about this stuff is today.

So yeah, I'm torn. Reading it doesn't seem like wasted time, but on the other hand, I somehow liked Flea's "Acid for the Children" better. I also recommend reading Fleas' (childhood) biography first, because it's nice to compare their views. Scar Tissue takes you through Flea's whole book in the first couple of chapters.
