Prefer Emily Brontë to Jane Austen. Kurtz was the hero of Heart of Darkness and I have a thing for weasily, unreliable narrators (Marlowe was one, so is every narrator in Wuthering Heights). New fiction that blends history with fantasy or the supernatural is something I'm exploring. I see television and film as separate artworks to novels, if those were the inspiration to them.

Frank Herbert's Dune is one of those classic space opera science fiction novels I read as a teen which was incredibly influential. His world is so richly imagined - it's a fabulous sandbox for all the amazing shows and films which have followed.
Re-reading for inspiration. May make multiple entries on key scenes.
