Frederic M. Wheelock: Wheelock's Latin (2011)

Wheelock's Latin (originally titled Latin and later Latin: An Introductory Course Based on Ancient Authors) …

A very well-structured, dependable Latin textbook. I think it would be best for a classroom setting, but it's also excellent for self-study.

Helen Lackner: Yemen in Crisis (2019, Verso Books) No rating

An excellent book describing the conditions that have led to the war in Yemen. The author breaks down the subject thematically, with separate chapters for important themes in understanding the lead up to the war. Although understandably focused on the underlying causes of the conflicts, it's also an interesting introduction to the country itself. Includes a bibliography for further reading.
