Review of 'Darkness on the edge of town' on 'Goodreads'

The best thing about this book is the reference to a masterful Springsteen album. The novel itself is a mess of wasted opportunity and willful desire to simply explore the recesses of the human mind. While several good ideas are presented, they go nowhere in favor of people being violent and depraved. That's all well and good but with no direction I don't really get the point.
